Role Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated Maintenance Electrician. Working alongside our maintenance and operations teams you will enjoy problem solving and identify the root cause for electrical defects and breakdowns, offering solutions to problematic equipment, aiming to resolve problems in a time efficient and safe manner. You will support the wider Maintenance team to identify and support preventative maintenance activities at our Dowlow Quarry nr Buxton in Derbyshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for implementing a preventative maintenance system and carrying out planned maintenance activities to ensure that our quarry and asphalt plant operates safely and reliably.
  • Play a key 'hands on' role in the planning and implementation of plant improvements.
  • Have the ability to quickly fault find, respond to any unplanned plant shutdowns and work closely with other team members and contractors as required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experience in a similar role within the construction materials industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • A qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience of a heavy industrial environment.
  • PLC and VSD Experience (desirable).
  • Good working knowledge of electrical LV isolation.
  • 18th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certification.
  • Good understanding of Electrical maintenance methods & techniques.
  • Knowledge & experience of medium/high voltage networks including switching methods.
  • A working knowledge of BS7671 inspection & testing - qualifications in this area would be desirable.
  • A sound working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment regulations.
  • Computer literate.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
