  • Act as the gatekeeper for data approval workflows, ensuring all changes adhere to governance standards and align with business needs.
  • Develop, implement, and embed a robust data governance framework, including policies, processes, and controls to ensure the quality, availability, and security of data.
  • Work with global stakeholders to standardise data definitions, documentation, and data flows across Pret’s systems.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to map data lineage and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Conduct regular data audits to monitor compliance with data governance policies, proactively addressing issues to improve data quality.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to data governance, including data capture, quality, and availability.
  • Collaborate with global business units, including Operations, Finance, HR, and IT, to align governance initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Promote data literacy across the organisation by educating teams on the value of data governance, taxonomy, and best practices.
  • Drive data quality initiatives, identifying and resolving issues with completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data.
  • Support the democratisation of data, enabling self-service access through tools, improved documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Champion a data-first culture, advocating for best practices and driving engagement across Pret’s markets and franchise partners.

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a Data Governance role, ideally within a multi-national organisation.
  • Demonstrated success implementing data governance frameworks, standards, and processes that deliver measurable business value.
  • Experience managing data taxonomies and common data models, with a strong understanding of master data management and metadata management.
  • Hands-on experience working with SQL and data tools to interrogate, document, and analyse datasets.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, data lineage, and privacy regulations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proven experience driving data literacy initiatives to embed data governance practices across an organisation.
  • Ability to self-direct and manage projects from concept to completion, delivering value in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
