How will I make a difference? Valpak Limited is the UK’s leading provider of environmental compliance and data management services in the UK and internationally. Through working with major retailers and brand holders, Valpak has developed a vast database known as the Environmental Product Information Centre (EPIC) that holds one of the UK’s largest product and packaging data sets.
The Data Enrichment Manager will lead a team to ensure EPIC data is accurate and can be used to support Valpak and our clients with trend analysis and insight into packaging and products put on the market. The Data Enrichment Manager will work to identify trends, improve accuracy, and utilise the data to improve knowledge within the sector.
What will I be doing?
- Manage supplier engagement, data processing, data quality, operational data administrators, and India Liaison teams
- Manage the teams to ensure they are working efficiently and collaboratively.
- Ensure teams work closely and provide feedback to each other, to adjust, improve, and evaluate the processes being used.
- Lead Team
- Motivate the team to achieve productivity and efficiencies.
- Utilise resources to ensure data accuracy and deliver reporting.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure data integrity and maximise use of the database
- Investigate new ways of error reporting.
- Educate the broader department to ensure accurate data is entered as part of operational processes.
- Work with Consulting to deliver project data, e.g., Packflow.
- Ensure EPIC and reporting capabilities are fit for current and future business needs
- Work alongside the Systems Team and Application Support Manager to identify EPIC/data improvements.
- Ensure EPIC data capability is fit for business need.
- Ensure the enrichment team follows business processes and supports the operational teams in their submission and customer requests.
- Expand scope of database
- Identify new data collection opportunities, e.g., nutritional information, barcodes, polymer, etc.
- Work cross-functionally to increase use of EPIC data beyond compliance.
- Work with Valpak’s Economist and the Consulting department to investigate sectors to find product or packaging trends.
- Develop internal and customer reports to present data in an easily consumable way to show key insights from the data.
- Be a subject matter expert in the database and how it interacts with other systems (i.e., Supplier Data Hub and Product Data Hub)
- Work with the development team and technical lead to collaboratively design the system.
- Be able to translate the regulations into Database and Supplier Data Hub.
