This role will lie within the New Product Introduction team, supporting cross-functional leadership across engineering management. Core Responsibilities:- Lead the technical cross-functional core team within projects.
- Coordinate technical deliverables across teams, including Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Procurement.
- Plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, time, and cost objectives.
- Perform risk assessments (e.g., DFMEA, PFMEA) to identify potential technical obstacles and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the design team to gather data needed for development units and prototypes (e.g., design data, BoMs), ensuring it is fit for purpose and loaded into data systems (ERP).
- Ensure project/product data is presented in a format that integrates easily into ERP/MRP systems.
- Manage material requirements for development builds, collaborating with Procurement to ensure parts and materials are in place for development and prototype builds.
- Lead development builds, resolving and logging issues for inclusion in subsequent development cycles.
- Support the Engineering Manager in creating and executing product test programs, ensuring they are carried out and documented with clear reports.
- Organize and oversee external testing and approvals.
- Work with Manufacturing to organize data for production use and assist in creating manufacturing solutions for full-scale production.
- Provide clear reporting on the status of activities and test results.
- Process Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and concessions to ensure product changes are managed and implemented.
- Ensure all engineering projects follow company systems and processes, including H&S, Quality, Legal, and Finance.
