Estimating Manager / Pre-Construction Manager / BID Manager – Hybrid ROLE. Our client is a leading nationwide highways contractor specialising in street lighting, traffic signs, technology, and civil engineering. With a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects, they are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the tendering process for major contracts within the highways sector.

The Role:
As Pre-Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the tendering process, overseeing a team of three estimators, and regularly pitching to customers to secure new business. You\’ll have a strategic influence on project planning, ensuring that bids are commercially competitive and align with client requirements.

Estimating Manager Key Responsibilities:
– Lead and manage the tendering process, ensuring high-quality and competitive submissions.
– Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of three estimators.
– Prepare and deliver compelling customer pitches to secure contracts.
– Collaborate with internal teams, including design, engineering, and project delivery, to align tender strategies.
– Analyze project requirements and provide innovative, cost-effective solutions.
– Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform bid strategies.
– Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.

Estimating Manager – About You:
– Proven experience as a Pre-Construction Manager, Estimator, or Bid Manager within the highways, traffic signals.
– Strong knowledge of highways construction, traffic signals.
– Full Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship options available.
– Demonstrable experience in tendering and delivering successful bids.
– Outstanding presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
– Analytical and detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
– Proficient in estimating tools and software.
