The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on packaging, layout design, and value stream management. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing and a proven track record of driving efficiency and quality improvements.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Packaging Optimization: Develop and implement packaging solutions that ensure the safe and efficient transport of automotive components. Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to minimize packaging costs while maintaining product integrity.
- Layout Design: Design and optimize manufacturing layouts to enhance workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. Utilize lean manufacturing principles to create layouts that support high productivity and safety standards.
- Value Stream Management: Analyze and improve value streams to eliminate non-value-added activities, reduce lead times, and enhance overall process efficiency. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Utilize Six Sigma and other quality management tools to achieve measurable improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes. Provide technical expertise and support to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to manufacturing process improvements, new product introductions, and capacity expansions. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.
Profile and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry.
- Proven experience in packaging optimization, layout design, and value stream management.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
