About The Role: As an Engineering Technician, you\’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our state-of-the-art, automated Fulfilment Centre in Welwyn Garden City. You\’ll be the first line of response for engineering faults, diagnosing and resolving issues quickly to protect performance. You will perform reactive maintenance, carry out planned servicing and repairs, and participate in proactive improvement projects to enhance reliability and efficiency. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. You will work a shift pattern across early and late shifts to support operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as first line of response for engineering faults; diagnose and resolve issues that could impact performance.
• Perform reactive maintenance and carry out planned servicing and repairs to keep equipment in top condition.
• Contribute to proactive improvement projects to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Operate in a hands-on, fast-paced environment with cutting-edge technology.
• Work across a shift pattern to support operational needs.

Qualifications

• Technical understanding of automation hardware/software and ideally control systems; formal engineering qualification is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, practical approach.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and share knowledge effectively.
• Comfortable working at height using access equipment, in line with site safety standards.
