Join to apply for the Support Practitioner (Female) role at Cornerstone.
Our team in Milton is looking for a reliable female colleague with passion and empathy to join on a permanent, part-time basis. You will support two ladies and a gent with learning disabilities and complex needs who share a home and lead active lives. The role involves providing care and support during times of staff training, holidays and absence.
Responsibilities
- Support with all aspects of daily living, including shopping, finances, cooking, housework and personal care.
- Participate in activities the individuals enjoy, such as arts & crafts, clubs, cinema or bowling, shopping, meals out and swimming.
- Ensure the best possible care and support during times of staff training, holidays and absence.
- Work as part of a team or alone (shift patterns may include lone working).
Requirements / Qualifications
- Ideally previous experience in a care setting with an understanding of learning disability and autism, but this is not essential.
- A caring and compassionate attitude; active listening; great communication; and a positive approach to learning.
- Confidence in the use of computers.

Shift Patterns
Dedicated around-the-clock support 24/7; shift patterns include early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers. Role may involve lone working.
Application and Compliance
- Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy.
- You may need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment.
- Please note: If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (within the last 10 years, age 18+), you may be asked to provide a criminal record certificate for pre-employment checks.
- For this position, female is an Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
