Applications are invited for a 6-month clinical fellow with an interest in Endometriosis and Minimal Access surgery, within the busy and thriving Elizabeth Garret Anderson Hospital, University College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This role is designed to significantly develop your skills in endometriosis and minimal access surgery. As part of our team, you will gain an invaluable blend of clinical, educational, and management skills that will benefit you throughout your professional journey.

Main duties of the job

The UCLH Endometriosis Service consists of a multidisciplinary team that is able to assess and treat women with all grades of endometriosis ranging from mild disease to the most severe form involving the bladder and bowel.

The postholder will be an integral part of the service taking part in direct clinical care, remote consultations, leading or assisting on the preparation of MDT clinics, theatre lists, etc. and also includes a daytime on-call activity. Expertise needed includes scanning and medical and laparoscopic management of pain and sub-fertility issues.

Person specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Full GMC Registration. NB: Non-UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register by date of interview.
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCOG Part 2 or equivalent
  • A good understanding of general Gynaecology
  • Research training

Experience

  • Postgraduate experience in Gynaecology
  • Evidence of audits and/or research

Communication

  • Good general clinical and communication skills

Personal And People Development

  • Highly motivated
  • Commitment to specialty and learning
  • Experience in teaching

Skills and Abilities

  • Competent at intermediate laparoscopic procedures
