European Gas and Power Sales Associate

Join our expanding Energy Market Access business in a sales position, focused on European Gas and Power, based in our London office. The Energy Markets Access (EMA) business is a ring-fenced business within CMF European Gas & Power. We offer clients a flexible market access solution that allows them to directly leverage Macquarie’s liquidity in physical, financial, OTC and cleared markets. The business is a material contributor to Macquarie’s EU Gas, Power & Carbon client franchise and we have significant product development and pipeline opportunities in 2025 and beyond which necessitates adding another member to the team.

What role will you play?

As an Associate within the team, you will spend the first year learning the business and operational setup of the EMA service. This will include being a client liaison for position monitoring and trading limits, management of client credit lines, trading booking/helping with trade recaps and reporting and liaising with support functions on trade reconciliation, confirmations, margining and settlements issues.

You will also be involved in liaising with external vendors and brokers to establish and maintain the EMA service for clients, working with senior colleagues on deal structuring and pricing, as well as client onboarding.

Over time the role will evolve into more sales and client relationship; you will be supported by a very experienced team who work collaboratively.

What you offer

• Personable, outwardly looking individual who thrives on interaction with people.
• Fluency in European languages would also be of benefit, although not essential.
• You should have experience of understanding vanilla linear and non-linear risk and have some experience of the European Energy sector.
• You will also preferably have a strong STEM based education.
• You should also have demonstrable ability to manage and own problem resolution and to coordinate others.
