iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting a Child Protection Social Worker to work for our client based in Plymouth and surrounding areas.

Location: Ballard House, West Hoe Road, Plymouth

Pay rate: £47 per hour

Contract Duration: 3 months

Our Client is dedicated to safeguarding children and young people. They are committed to providing professional social work services to protect and support those at risk as defined by the Children Act 1989.

Our Client is seeking a compassionate Contract Child Protection Social Worker. This statutory role focuses on safeguarding children, including securing alternative homes when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake casework with children, young people, and families within legislative and policy frameworks (80%).
  • Participate in training and development (20%).
  • Maintain satisfactory performance through assessments.

Key Activities:

  • Direct work with children, young people, and families.
  • Build purposeful relationships.
  • Manage tight deadlines and assessments.
  • Undertake Court work when required.
  • Participate in supervision and practice development.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work and relevant professional registration.
  • Knowledge of legislative frameworks.
  • Child care experience.
  • Knowledge of child and family social work.
  • Understanding of child development.
  • Assessing risk and need.
  • Working with challenging behaviour.

Skills:

  • Effective communication.
  • Time management.
  • Build effective relationships.

Note: This is a contract role with a duration of 3 months. Lone working in unpredictable home environments. Exposure to distressing situations. May face verbal abuse and aggression.
