We have partnered with a leading manufacturing organisation that is seeking to appoint a SHEQ Manager at their site near Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the safety culture and driving sustainability, quality, and environmental improvements across their operation.

In this role, you will report directly to the Production Director and be an integral part of the management team. The position has become available due to an upcoming retirement, ensuring a smooth handover process is possible. They are looking for an engaging and proactive individual to take their SHEQ standards to the next level.

The SHEQ Manager will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement a Quality, Environment, Health & Safety strategy
  • Lead and support on various site QHSE matters
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the site, promoting the development of a positive culture and best practice
  • Maintain and update ISO Systems management systems – 45001, 14000 and 9001.
  • Driving key SHEQ objectives, including zero lost time injuries, near-miss reporting, and sustainability initiatives (zero landfill projects).
  • Audit site-based management systems to ensure full compliance
  • Development of SHEQ Advisor

The SHEQ Manager will have:

  • Must have experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • NEBOSH General Cert or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrable experience in implementing and monitoring a SHE strategy
  • Experience communicating with external bodies & authorities such as HSE, councils and auditors
  • Ability to strongly influence various internal stakeholders
  • Experience of maintaining – ISO 9001, 45001, 14001 systems
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor trained is advantageous
