We have an opportunity for a full-time Band 8A APP in Pain Management. You would be working for an organisation that houses both physical and mental health services, offering a rare opportunity for these teams to form close working relationships with each other and provide a highly integrated quality service, catering for both physical and mental health needs.

We are looking to welcome an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner who has proven skills in the management of persistent pain, who is innovative and will lead the Physiotherapy contribution to the MDT. You would be part of a close-knit multi-disciplinary team including Consultants, Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Physiotherapists, providing APP assessment, one-to-one sessions, and the provision of Pain Management Programs to patients with persistent pain.

As one of the most senior members of the Pain service and as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, your role will include screening, filtering referrals, and managing the care of those patients who otherwise would have been referred to and seen by a hospital Consultant. To achieve this, the postholder will work outside the normal scope of physiotherapy practice, facilitating Role Redesign and Service Modernisation across Primary and Secondary care.

To provide the highest level of expertise on musculoskeletal pain conditions within the pain service, providing expert advice to other services and professionals including GPs and hospital medical staff. Participate actively in the senior management of the pain service, contributing to its wider support and development.

North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust (NMUH) is one of London’s busiest healthcare providers, providing hospital care and community services for the 350,000 people living in Enfield, Haringey, and beyond. Our specialist services include HIV, cardiology, blood disorders, diabetes, fertility, sickle cell, and thalassemia. In addition to a full range of cancer diagnosis and treatment services, the Helen Rollason Cancer Support Centre is based on-site and provides services to support cancer patients’ wellbeing.

We also provide community services and have a dedicated 0-19 service for children and young people in Enfield so that they can get the best possible start in life. This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school-aged children from 5-19. The 0-19 service aims to improve pathways and partnerships with services in the hospital and deliver excellent care for the children and families.
