Health Care Assistant
Woking and Sam Beare Hospice In-Patient Unit is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated team.
We pride ourselves on delivering high standards of care to patients and their families during some of the most challenging times. Our services include the In-Patient Unit, home care, and the Wellbeing Centre. We specialize in palliative and end-of-life care for patients with complex, life-limiting illnesses in North-West Surrey.

We also focus heavily on education and professional development. Our education team offers excellent training sessions led by in-house experts. Staff are encouraged and supported to enhance their skills through courses and university modules.

Role Overview
A successful Health Care Assistant will be:
- Caring and compassionate
- Eager to develop knowledge and skills
- Experience in palliative care is desirable but not essential; training and development will be provided
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Candidates should also have:
- Willingness to work towards Care Certificate or NVQ 3 (QCF Level 3 or equivalent)
- Experience caring for patients in health or social care settings
- Teamwork experience
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, requiring a Disclosure check for any criminal convictions.
Salary Band: Band 2-3 depending on experience and qualifications. All Band 2 employees are encouraged to complete the Care Certificate within 6-12 months, with potential to progress to Band 3.
