Welders

Our client is a provider of engineering services to a range of industry sectors including manufacturing and rail. This includes welding and inspection.

Due to an increase in workload they are currently looking for experienced welders to be based near Stratford upon Avon.

The work will include carrying out repairs and modifications on a range of items including rail rolling stock. In particular this welding role will involve cutting out corroded and cracked component parts and welding them again, ensuring they are safe to return to service.

This is a long‑term contract for the right candidate and is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly expanding market leader.

Responsibilities

• Repair and modify rail rolling stock items.
• Cut out corroded and cracked components.
• Weld components using MIG/MAG, TIG or manual metal arc (Stick) techniques.
• Ensure repaired parts meet safety standards and are fit for service.

Qualifications

• Experienced with MIG/MAG, TIG and manual metal arc (Stick) welding or a combination of these techniques.
• Current welding certification desirable.
• Experience with heavier gauge mild steel.
• Proficient in using air gauges, drills and grinders.
• Previous experience on rail rolling stock desirable.
