Shift Team Leader - Energy from Waste

Astute\’s Power Team is working with a leading Waste Management Company to recruit a Shift Team Leader for their Energy from Waste plant in Peterborough.

The Shift Team Leader will supervise and provide direction to the Shift Operators and day operations staff, ensuring the plant\’s daily operations are efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant at all times.

Ideal candidates will have a HNC / HND in Engineering, with several years of supervisory experience, preferably in the Power Sector or a similar industry.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Report to the Operations Manager and manage a team of Shift Operators and Shift Technicians responsible for the safe and efficient operation of high-pressure boilers, generators, and auxiliary plant.
2. Ensure the plant operates within its parameters, complying with strict HSE rules, regulations, and company policies.
3. Maximize waste input and energy production.
4. Chair daily meetings after shift handover to review health, safety, environmental issues, overnight activities, and upcoming plans.
5. Act as a HV Senior Authorised Person for relevant activities.
