About the role: Forest of Dean District Council is seeking two Asset and Bereavement Officers to provide essential administrative and operational support to our busy Property and Estates team. There are two positions available which would suit someone looking for a job share. The work pattern can be flexible to suit the needs of appointed candidates. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on managing multiple priorities, is confident working independently, and enjoys working as a key point of contact for a range of stakeholders including tenants, landlords, members, and the general public.
As the Asset and Bereavement Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate asset records, assisting with audits, coordinating maintenance schedules, and handling ownership inquiries. You will advise the general public on options for purchasing and allocation of burial plots at both sites and offer feedback and advice on best practice to ensure the cemeteries function efficiently.

You will need:
- To be educated to A-level or equivalent standard.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience of working in a multi-disciplined environment in a supporting role.
- Proven experience in administrative support, asset management, or a related field is desirable.
- A high level of IT skills to undertake the inputting of complex data accurately onto different systems.
- Good written and oral communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Special Conditions:
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- BPSS check.
