Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Social Worker (MSW) for our Kidney/Pancreas Transplant team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Position Highlights:

• Innovation: 525-bed Level 1 trauma center and tertiary care facility, first in the region to perform kidney, heart, and pancreas transplants.
• Market: Sentara Transplant Center has been operating for nearly 40 years and is the only transplant center in the Hampton Roads Region, with over 2,200 transplants performed.

The Social Worker MSW performs a variety of casework and provides social work services to patients, families, and significant others. Must develop and monitor multidisciplinary collaboration of services to patients where appropriate. Assist adult patients and their families with personal and environmental difficulties related to medical conditions, including terminal illnesses.

• Masters of Social Work (MSW)
• Preferred home health experience

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility with the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads. It serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Our hospital offers high-quality programs in heart, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women\’s health, including a state-of-the-art neonatal ICU.
