In this pivotal role, you’ll provide expert architectural guidance to shape the design and delivery of cutting-edge cloud platforms, solutions, and workloads.
As a brand-new discipline within our charity, this is a unique opportunity to establish and mature modern cloud concepts, driving innovation and ensuring technology is at the heart of our ambitious new 5-year strategy.
What you will be doing: StepChange is embracing a cloud-first strategy, and we need a Cloud Solution Architect to drive this transformation. You’ll shape and mature our cloud approach, collaborating with peers and stakeholders to design and implement solutions that align with best practices. From defining principles, policies, and standards to ensuring well-informed technical decisions, you’ll play a crucial role in our innovation.
Beyond architecture, you’ll champion modern cloud engineering, fostering expertise through communities of practice and encouraging collaborative, agile cloud designs. Working with vendors, you’ll ensure solutions remain fit for purpose and aligned with governance frameworks.
About you: StepChange is seeking a Cloud Solution Architect to drive its cloud-first transformation. You’ll shape and implement modern architectures across AWS, M365, and Azure, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient cloud adoption. Your expertise in cloud frameworks, integration technologies, data solutions, and security principles will guide well-governed, agile decision-making while influencing transformation at scale.
Beyond technical leadership, you’ll champion innovation, risk mitigation, and architectural clarity, balancing cost, quality, and compliance in solution design. Your hands-on experience with AWS and Azure—and ideally certified at a Solution Architect level—alongside strong communication skills, will ensure seamless adoption. Most importantly, you’ll design with both technology and people in mind, empowering teams to embrace cloud capabilities effectively.
