Job Opportunity - Part Time VAT Specialist - Fully Remote
One of my local Government clients are currently on the lookout for an Interim VAT Specialist to join their team.
VAT Accountant
- Contract Length: 6 Months
- Pay Rate: DOE
- IR35: To be confirmed
- Days: Ideally X2-3 p/w
- Start Date: Mid July
- Fully Remote
You will be responsible for:
- Monthly VAT returns.
- Compliance testing.
- Reviewing VAT reports from the system and flagging inconsistencies/improvements.
- Act as the first point of contact for any VAT advice.
- Partial exemptions.
- Options to tax.
- VAT Project work, liaising with different services and advising on VAT associated with this.
This is very much more of a strategical role and the council are after a VAT Accountant who can consult and deal with complex queries. Whilst being hands on will also be needed for the role there is a Finance Admin in position who can assist with more junior VAT tasks.
Successful candidates will:
- Have previous experience working as a VAT Accountant performing the above tasks within a local authority setting - Essential.
- Applicants do not necessarily need to be fully qualified accountants as the client is happy to consider candidates who are part qualified or qualified by experience.
