Amazon Music is looking for a talented Contracts Manager to join our legal team to help support our growing music, podcast and audiobook business. We're looking for someone who can identify and implement contracting and other legal process improvements, enjoys working directly with business clients, and loves the challenge of learning new subject matters and issues.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively with business clients, team members, other internal stakeholders, and outside counsel; complete a high volume of tasks and projects quickly and independently; prioritise projects and issues effectively; take action without having perfect information; and think creatively to solve problems. The candidate will also have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines.
Key job responsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of contractual relationships, such as music licenses and services agreements, including directly working together with various business clients across our music industry, business affairs, marketing, and product tech teams. You will also work on marketing reviews (ensuring legal compliance of marketing copy and assets) and advise business teams on consumer protection law aspects of their work. The other main function of the role will be to help scale legal support by identifying and implementing opportunities for contract and legal process automation and simplification, including by using automated systems and AI tools.
About the teamThe role supports an international team, with experienced lawyers in the UK and across the EU. The role is also closely integrated with colleagues in the US, and some of the work will be global in reach and impact. Some international travel is to be expected.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years' experience of contracts management, leading contract negotiations and reviewing/drafting contracts in a contracts management, paralegal or other legal professional role
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to invent, simplify and improve legal and contracting processes
- Great organisational and project management skills, and ability to work independently
- In-house contracts management experience
- Music or media industry experience
- Command of other European languages, in particular Spanish, Italian, French or German is a plus
