Are you an experienced IT professional with a strong background in networking and infrastructure, ready to take on a key role supporting critical research and teaching environments? A major academic institution is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to join its central IT team, supporting a large and distributed network estate serving over 6,000 users. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a highly respected technical team at the start of a multi-year programme of infrastructure renewal and service modernisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain, and develop a large-scale network infrastructure spanning multiple locations
  • Work extensively with Cisco and Fortinet devices, ensuring robust performance and security
  • Collaborate on network architecture planning and implementation
  • Contribute to server and storage infrastructure support as required
  • Uphold cybersecurity best practices and contribute to security-first design thinking
  • Participate in ongoing infrastructure transformation projects

About You:

You will bring:

  • Advanced networking expertise, including hands-on experience with Cisco and Fortinet hardware
  • Proven experience managing and deploying networks across multiple physical locations
