We are seeking an experienced Expeditor for a 3-6 month cover in Aberdeen. In this role, you will manage supplier relationships, ensure on-time deliveries, and maintain accurate records while keeping customers informed of their delivery schedules. The ideal candidate will have prior expediting experience or a strong background in administration or supply chain management, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely deliveries from suppliers by maintaining strong relationships and proactively expediting orders.
- Regularly communicate delivery updates to customers and resolve inquiries about schedules or delays.
- Update internal systems with revised delivery dates and track order status to ensure data accuracy.
- Generate and compile reports on delivery performance, supplier adherence, and expediting activities.
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, document management, and coordinating with internal departments.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an expediting role or a strong administrative/supply chain background.
- Experience in supply chain operations, logistics, or procurement (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in ERP systems or similar tools for managing delivery schedules.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to identify and resolve potential supply chain bottlenecks.
Day-to-Day:
- Follow up with suppliers regularly to ensure orders are on track.
- Expedite delayed orders to meet customer expectations.
- Communicate revised delivery schedules to customers and escalate issues as necessary.
- Maintain internal systems with accurate delivery dates.
- Prepare daily or weekly reports on order status and delivery performance.
