We’re looking for a strategic and driven Programme Manager to lead the delivery of our ED3 business plan at Northern Powergrid. In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the heart of our ED3 programme, coordinating, directing, and driving progress across multiple workstreams to ensure we deliver a business plan that reflects our ambitions with clarity, quality, and purpose. Reporting to senior leadership, you’ll bring people, plans, and priorities together—providing oversight, enforcing accountability, and enabling informed, strategic decisions that shape the future of our network.

Key Responsibilities
- Actively manage the ED3 programme and provide direction setting and orchestration across the ED3 plan
- Manage and coordinate across internal and externally facing workstreams through establishing programme reporting and robust governance
- Have oversight of plan interdependencies and cohesion to ensure consistency across the ED3 plan workstreams
- Monitor the delivery/progression of plan deliverables and provide oversight and scrutiny of workstream plans and progress to ensure quality assurance
- Ensure workstream guidance and resources are clear and sufficient to promote efficiency and quality across the process and plan
- Uphold the accountability framework with the executive and workstream leads, holding key players to account in discharging their accountabilities and resolving/escalating issues where required
- Coordinate efficient and effective use of Executive time on business plan development to ensure senior time is used effectively, focusing on priorities and progression of key strategic decisions
- Operate an effective managed environment for programme control by establishing and uphold standards for working practices, and providing timely and relevant communications to workstreams

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Experience managing complex programmes
- The ability to proactively prioritise, plan and deliver outputs
- Advanced Excel and MS Office skills, with the ability to analyse data, create reports, and present insights effectively
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- An understanding of UK energy regulation, price reviews and regulatory frameworks in the energy sector
- Experience of preparing or evaluating business plans of regulated companies
- Qualified to degree level (or equivalent)
- Qualified to project manager (e.g. PMQ, PRINCE2 7)
- Previous experience working with or alongside a Distribution Network Operator
