The Company: We are working with a leading, national, building contractor whose Manchester Office has created a great reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects for clients based in the North West of England. They have a very approachable and successful senior management team, secure the overwhelming majority of their projects through negotiation and are also members of a number of key public sector procurement frameworks. Although they are one of the Top 20 Construction Groups in the UK, they have the feel of a smaller family business where employees are valued and supported. Staff turnover is low and their Glassdoor rating is among the best in the industry.
The Role: They are now keen to add a Senior Design Manager to their highly regarded regional design team as they have secured a number of new projects. You will provide advice on design risk and opportunities for value engineering to the commercial, planning, delivery and client teams. You will produce, agree and manage realistic design programs. Attend design meetings with the client, their representatives, consultants and supply chain. Once projects are on site you will ensure the delivery team are working to the required specifications.
You: Ideally, you will have worked as a Senior Design Manager previously on medium to high value new build or refurbishment projects. You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily. IT literate. Good construction knowledge. Good verbal and written communication skills.
