ROLE PURPOSE

As Head of Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative vision and direction of the brand, ensuring it remains at the forefront of contemporary luxury occasionwear. Working closely with the Creative Director and wider team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process from concept to final product, while driving innovation and brand elevation. With a deep understanding of fabrics, materials, and garment construction, you will bring fresh inspiration and cultural awareness to the design process, drawing influence from city breaks, interiors, and global fashion movements. You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, balancing creativity with strategy to produce collections that resonate with our clientele and maintain the brand’s signature aesthetic.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A highly experienced womenswear designer with a proven track record in luxury fashion. Bridal/Occasionwear experience is preferred.
  • An experienced team leader with the ability to inspire and motivate the team.
  • A fashion degree with expertise in pattern cutting, garment construction, and production processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop, for design and technical sketches.
  • Experience working in both boutique and larger fashion businesses, with an understanding of scaling design processes.
  • A creative visionary with strong brand direction skills, ensuring design concepts align with commercial strategy.
  • A meticulous understanding of fabrication, textiles, and material innovation.
  • Exceptional illustration and design skills with the ability to translate concepts into commercially viable collections.
  • A problem-solver who thrives in an autonomous, fast-paced environment, demonstrating energy, passion, and an ability to pivot when needed.
  • A culturally attuned designer with an appreciation for global fashion trends, runway presentations, and luxury interiors.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Creative Direction & Brand Elevation
    • Develop and define the creative vision for the brand, ensuring it aligns with identity and strategic growth.
    • Research and draw inspiration from fashion weeks, interiors, and cultural movements, ensuring collections remain directional and aspirational.
    • Lead seasonal concept development, mood boards, and collection planning in collaboration with the Creative Director.
    • Ensure consistency in design language, retaining and building upon the identifiable hand-writing that cements the brand's position in the luxury bridal/occasion-wear market.
  • Design & Development
    • Oversee the full end-to-end design process, from sketching to final production.
    • Work closely with pattern cutters, sample makers, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, well-constructed, and commercially viable.
    • Ensure designs meet the highest quality standards while adhering to production timelines.
    • Manage and inspire the design team, creating a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
    • Work closely with the merchandising, production, and marketing teams to align design output with business objectives.
    • Guide junior designers and oversee their creative development, ensuring excellence in execution.
    • Collaborate with the wider team to develop seasonal campaigns, lookbooks, and visual storytelling elements.
