An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team in a school setting. The role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapy to children and young people aged 11-19 with specific learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), dyslexia, and dyscalculia. This is a rewarding role offering professional autonomy, collaborative teamwork, and a strong focus on continuous professional development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, hands-on Speech and Language Therapy interventions to a defined caseload of students with complex needs.
  • Independently manage a varied caseload of pupils with developmental speech and language disorders, sensory needs, and learning difficulties.
  • Carry out detailed assessments and create tailored therapy plans and reports.
  • Deliver therapy both in-class and in small group or one-to-one settings.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and integration of therapy across the school day.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary reviews, EHCPs, and transition planning.
  • Participate in CPD opportunities and help shape best practices across the therapy department.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Current registration with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
  • Membership of RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists).
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified SaLT.
  • Demonstrable experience assessing, diagnosing, and implementing management plans.
  • Experience working with children or young people with ASC, dyslexia, and other specific learning difficulties.
  • A passion for working in an educational setting and supporting pupils with SEN.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience working in a school setting.
  • Solid background in NHS services, particularly community paediatrics or special schools.
  • A flexible, proactive, and team-focused approach to work.

Additional Information:
