The opportunity Our client who are a design consultancy are currently seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Mechanical Design/ Project Engineer that is client facing . You will have the ability to write scopes of works and check documents. You will be working on AMP 8 work for a large client of theirs. Location – Trafford, Manchester/ Hybrid (3 days from the office and 2 from Contract or staff £50Ltd -£56.81Ltd per hour dependable on experience (Outside of IR35 subject to an IR35 assessment) Duration – 12 months Hours per week – 40 hours per week Your duties and responsibilities will be Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements. Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates Direct, prepare scopes for and check output of subcontract M&E design teams Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers Prepare design investigations, reports, and specifications. Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards. Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded. Estimate hours required for design packages Present and attend at meetings and design presentationsYou will have the following qualifications and experience 10 years’ relevant design experience in the water industry Significant experience in LV design Awareness of electrical and control systems Graduate or HND in Mechanical Engineering Good level IT Registered with professional body and working towards chartership Chartered engineer (preferred not essential) Experience in mechanical, hydraulic and/or control engineering Experience working with wastewater and clean water Experience in HV, ICA, LVA designs Awareness of construction methods and materials. Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
