Bennett and Game are proud to be working with a forward-thinking engineering consultancy as they look to expand their team with the addition of a Temporary Works Design Engineer, based in either Maidstone or Bristol.

About the Role

As a Temporary Works Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering bespoke temporary works solutions for projects across various sectors. With at least 3 years of design experience in UK construction, you'll apply your technical skills to a diverse portfolio, while gaining further experience and development in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical designs and drawings for temporary works solutions across multiple sectors.
  • Communicate complex ideas in a clear and client-friendly manner.
  • Use the latest engineering software and tools to develop safe and efficient designs.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys, identifying potential challenges and providing practical, safe solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects independently, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and clients throughout the design and implementation process.
  • Remain up to date with industry standards and regulations, particularly CDM 2015, and champion best practices in health and safety.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Ideally working towards Chartered status (ICE or IStructE).
  • Strong understanding of structural principles and temporary works.
  • Proficient in 2D AutoCAD.
  • Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and design documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • High level of IT literacy and mathematical competence.
