Experienced with Financial Accounting? Do you enjoy working with Accounts and Finance? Have you experience with preparing management accounts and balance sheets? You will be joining us as a valued member of our Finance Team. As Management Accountant, you will report to our Financial Controller and work extensively with the wider Finance Team. It’s a busy, diverse role so you’ll need to be organised and enjoy working in a fast-paced business. Experience is essential as well as a positive attitude and great communication and numeracy skills. You’ll join a supportive friendly team in a secure company with excellent benefits.

Your role as Management Accountant at phs Group will involve:

  • Preparation of periodic / monthly management accounts and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Reviewing controls and processes, making improvements where necessary.
  • Providing support to the senior management team and finance business partners.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Coordinating variable elements of pay runs.
  • Arranging payment of pay runs and company taxes.
  • Overseeing sales ledger and purchase ledger functions.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Preparing and distributing daily, weekly and periodic reports, developing and providing timely, accurate reports as required.

The ideal candidate for a Management Accountant with phs Group:

  • A broad financial management background with the ability to provide incisive, user-friendly management information and meaningful financial analysis.
  • Experience of carrying out external and internal audits, and preparing management accounts.
  • Positive communication skills, providing advice and information to senior colleagues.
  • A high attention to detail, providing accurate, timely reporting.
  • Excellent numeric, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft packages, especially Word and Excel (look-ups, pivot tables).
  • Able to effectively prioritise in a busy environment to successfully meet deadlines.
  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) is preferred for this position.
