The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Job Function: To undertake installation, commissioning, and maintenance works alongside the Security Systems team whilst operating in compliance with company policy and procedure.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Multiple system type installation, commissioning, and handover of Fire systems including Addressable / Non-addressable systems, Air Sampling, Beam Detection, Wireless, etc., in accordance with current standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Work within project time constraints, identifying and communicating any potential risks to project delivery dates without delay.
  • Commission and hand over systems in line with specifications and drawings, including providing client demonstrations.
  • Possess FIA qualifications (BS5839 Fundamentals/Advanced and Commissioning).
  • Have a full understanding of BS5839 (All parts) and SSSTS to supervise third parties on-site as required.
  • Ensure all relevant Health & Safety requirements are complied with.
  • Maintain the health, safety, and welfare of yourself and the team in accordance with company policy.
  • Complete relevant electronic documentation (via tablet) or paperwork in line with FIA & BAFE requirements.
  • Support company policy and best practices around fire and security, with emphasis on protecting sensitive customer information.
  • Knowledge of integration of detection systems into other disciplines is advantageous.
  • Provide technical support for all departments within the City.
  • Assist in teaching and developing trainee Engineers.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 8 years proven experience with Fire Alarms.
  • FIA qualifications (Advanced and Commissioning).
  • Full understanding of BS5839 is essential.
  • Knowledge of integrating detection systems into other disciplines is advantageous.
  • Ability to program cause and effect for various manufacturers from a laptop is essential.
  • Good communication skills, as the role involves customer interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and organize time effectively.
  • Understanding of industry standards related to installed systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Full clean driving license and willingness to travel nationwide.
  • ECS/CSCS Card, IPAFF, and Asbestos awareness are essential.
  • SSSTS qualification for supervising third-party contractors on-site is essential.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile and adapt to flexible working hours.
  • Prepared to travel at short notice and stay overnight if needed.
  • On-call availability during system soak tests and warranty periods.
  • Self-motivated team player, professional, positive, and proactive attitude.
