The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are now looking to recruit a Toolmaker/ Validation Engineer on a permanent basis, ideally candidates will have a tooling/manual machining background.

The Job you’ll do:

  • Creates test specifications and co-operates with internal/external stakeholders to evaluate and improve the intended product use.
  • Design, setup and operation of test apparatus, covering mechanical, electrical and control related aspects.
  • Evaluates and presents the results as well as providing input on improvements and solutions.
  • Creates the respective reports and shares as required.
  • Assist in the development of validation programs for alternatively applied systems and subsystems.
  • Supports the preparation of the test and the testing environment.
  • Checks the test program and executes the respective sequences of tests.
  • Contributes to the collection of data and quality of the test results by providing informed feedback regarding the functionality of the tested system.
  • Builds prototype components and assemblies via controlled and carefully recorded method.
  • Completes teardown and analysis procedures on post-test assemblies to understand and report on failure mechanisms.

About You:

  • Suitable qualifications and or relevant experience in a suitable engineering field.
  • Proficient skills related to mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Proven experience in testing and fault finding.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite including excel, word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in completing data post processing and analysis is desirable.
  • Experience working with CAN bus (Controller Area Network) based products is desirable.
  • Experience in instrumentation and controls is desirable.
  • Experience using manual machines (milling machine & lathe).
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, able to work individually or in a team and able to communicate at all levels confidently.
  • To be approachable, collaborative and inclusive at all times.
  • Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and flexible in their approach to everyday work requirements.
