Futureheads are working in partnership with one of the most reputable companies within the world of healthcare. The organisation is steeped in history and has been running for over 170 years, providing knowledge and expertise to medical professionals globally. They are looking for a Solution Architect to join their established cross-functional team based in Central London.
Key responsibilities
- Design and guide the implementation of robust technical solutions that align with product goals.
- Ensure solutions conform to architectural standards and approved technologies.
- Serve as the bridge between product and engineering teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on architecture, code quality, and management of technical debt.
- Partner with product managers and UX teams to improve the overall user experience.
- Develop technical roadmaps that align with product and organisational strategy.
- Maintain documentation to support knowledge sharing and continuity.
In this role, you’ll also be tasked with identifying and managing technical risks, providing valuable input into product and organisational strategy. A strong understanding of customer and product needs will be essential as you propose innovative solutions and evaluate emerging technologies for their potential to enhance scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with platform architects and fellow solution architects, you’ll ensure that product-level architectural decisions support the broader technology strategy and leverage cloud capabilities to their fullest. Participation in architectural review sessions will be a regular part of your contribution to strategic alignment.
Technical Expertise
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years’ experience in software architecture and development, with a focus on web technologies and distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of design patterns, microservices, and API architecture.
- Proficiency in serverless architecture and database systems (e.g., RDBMS, NoSQL).
- Strong programming experience across multiple languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, ReactJS, XML, JSON).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and experience with containerisation/orchestration technologies.
- Familiarity with search engines and knowledge graph technologies.
- Experience working in agile and DevOps environments.
