Progressive Freight Forwarder looking to add an Import Clerk to their team, busy, exciting working environment promoting development and progression!
Package
- Basic Salary 32k - 40k (dependent on experience)
- Bonus paid 2x annually
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday 0900-1730hrs
- Paid overtime
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Job Description
The position would be a complete start to finish role, to include but not limited to:
- Arranging import shipments from worldwide origins.
- Arranging collections with selected transport companies.
- Liaising with clients and other branches, sales departments, hauliers, etc.
- Providing excellent customer service to import customers.
- Handling order traces, checking BOLs, AWBs, commercial invoices, processing pre-alerts from overseas offices.
- Good negotiating skills.
- An in-depth customs knowledge and the ability to complete import customs entries.
- Experience at communicating with shipping lines, airlines and transport companies.
Candidate Specification
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar function in the freight forwarding industry.
- Team player together with ability to work on own initiative.
- Tactfully handle customer queries / excellent telephone manner.
- Stay calm and focused under pressure.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime.
- Understanding of ocean imports would be an advantage.
