Our client is a leading machinery manufacturer that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are a leading design and manufacturing company, supplying to a number of sectors. They are looking to expand their Design team along with their increase in customer orders. They are looking for a Project Design Engineer that wants to develop their career and take responsibility across different areas of the business.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design from scratch bespoke machinery for customers
  • Ensure time frames through from drawings, procurement, design, assembly, and delivery are all kept within
  • Manage a team of 2 other Design Engineers, taking responsibility for individual and team projects
  • Working with Autodesk to create 3D designs
  • Works include only mechanical designs - hydraulic and pneumatics
  • Client travel is required to understand customer specifications
  • Assist in machinery improvements on customer sites

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must have Autodesk Inventor experience
  • SolidWorks and/or CAD experience would be desirable
  • Strong mechanical engineering understanding
  • Shopfloor experience - Engineering background is great
  • Ideally 5+ years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer working closely with customers
  • Proven experience managing Design projects
