Chewton Glen is a true English original. From the unique 72 bedrooms including 14 one of a kind Treehouses, to the award-winning spa and state of the art James Martin cookery school, it has an abundance of ways to revive your senses. The blissful 130 acres of woodland are home to an indoor and outdoor tennis centre, a 9-hole golf course, heritage orchard, 70 working beehives, a walled kitchen garden, croquet lawn and more.
As Business Development Director, you will be responsible for driving sales into the property whilst being the face of the hotel. You will work closely with the central Iconic commercial team and all the onsite operational teams. You will attend hotel meetings as required and be a role model for the team members based at Chewton Glen. This role is also responsible for driving the overall sales and marketing function at Chewton Glen through an effective commercial plan covering all markets and financial impacting operational departments within the business.

Key responsibilities
- Act as the point of contact on site for new business and when representing the Hotel at key trade shows, exhibitions and local events as required
- Take ownership and be confident to carry out show rounds for all new business enquiries and partner appointments for both corporate and leisure enquiries
- Take an active role in the bi-weekly forecast meeting driving the overall commercial business actions for Chewton Glen
- Be intuitive and proactively research for new sales opportunities, developing business within the corporate, conference, group and leisure markets that are in line with our vision, values and branding
- Update the CRM system on all feedback and notes including - follow up of leads, calls and appointments
- Help to source speakers and presenters for the special onsite events program including the cookery school
- Be involved in driving the overall marketing strategy as per the commercial plan in conjunction with the Iconic Brand & Marketing Director.
- Liaise with the Iconic Brand & Marketing Director to track and monitor responses to specific marketing activities and report in by weekly forecast meetings
- Be responsible for the control of sales and marketing expense line in the P&L
