Maintenance Engineer

At TQR Plymouth, we are delighted to be working with this innovative manufacturer whose products are used in domestic and commercial settings the world over. They are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical/automation bias for their fast-paced Plymouth site. The Role
As a key member of the site engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring production runs smoothly by delivering both reactive and preventative maintenance across a wide range of electro-mechanical and automated systems. You will also support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on production machinery
- Diagnose and resolve faults on electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems
- Assist with the installation and optimisation of new production lines and equipment
- Support contractor management, ensuring compliance with RAMS and site procedures
- Contribute to the development and improvement of existing equipment and processes
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment, electrically biased, with strong automation and control systems knowledge
- Strong knowledge of PLC diagnostics, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Familiarity with PPM schedules
- Understanding of automation and control systems; PLC programming knowledge is a plus
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Engineering Level 3 or 5, HNC/HND, City & Guilds) or equivalent experience
- IOSH and Working at Height certifications are desirable
