We are a well-known Healthcare group with reliable, dedicated, and professional staff within our services already! We care for adults aged 19 - 60 who have learning difficulties and Mental Health issues. Rehability UK specializes in supporting adults with complex needs (including, but not limited to, Autistic Spectrum Condition, Learning Disability, and Mental Health) to live their best possible life. Main function of the job:
- To maintain support skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice.
- To provide support in accordance with the current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time.
Main duties (not in any order of priority):
- Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within the service.
- Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture.
- Participate in the development of the service’s procedures.
- Participate in evaluation of the service through taking part in the annual staff survey.
- Work with your manager to establish effective employer-employee relationships.
- Minimize legal risks by following required guidelines.
- Participate in the maintenance of the service’s information systems.
- Assist in the implementation of support policies and procedures via your practice.
- Follow the manager's plans to act within the service’s budget based on the service’s objectives.
Development of practice in support services:
- Assist in the development of philosophy, goals and objectives for the support practice.
- Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of support implementation and delivery.
- Ensure your practice meets and maintains support standards.
- Work in cooperation with members of multi-disciplinary health teams to maximize opportunities for therapeutic support for the people we support.
- Ensure the rights of the people we support are protected.
- Record relevant activities in Nourish.
- Participate in management's assessments of competence as required.
Professional Practice:
- Encourage innovative methods for the delivery of support and communication in facilitating people living their best life, including:
- Providing personal care, such as showering, shaving, oral hygiene and dressing, encouraging self-care whenever possible.
- Assisting with household and daily living tasks and supporting people to develop their skills for example, making beds and keeping the environment clean and hygienic.
- Encouraging and ensuring good nutrition, assisting in preparing meals, assisting with feeding and hydration.
- Accompanying individuals to appointments with clinics, GPs, health professionals, hospitals, and other relevant services.
- Enabling the people we support to be a part of their wider community.
- Administering medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals and updating on changes in patient behaviour or condition.
- Monitoring health and wellbeing, maintaining records of vital signs such as pulse, temperature, and blood pressure and reporting any changes.
- Promoting mental well-being by providing emotional support and companionship.
Participation in team development:
- Co-operate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees.
- Contribute to the implementation of the service’s policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the effective resolution of team conflicts.
- Contribute to a constructive and supportive work atmosphere.
- Contribute to the support and maintenance of a culture of performance and excellence.
