Assist design/sales teams with product development - understanding how to create and adjust product and specifications to fit retailer requirements.
Risk analysis of new products and factories.
Carry out pre-production meetings with factories and customers (where appropriate) to effectively manage any risks/concerns.
Product sealing at all relevant points in the critical path including packaging.
Create legally compliant wording and instructions for product and packaging.
Manage product approvals/rejections and maintain records on an internal database.
Determine and communicate relevant test requirements to the supplier and interpret the results with effective corrective actions.
Act in the event of product failure, liaising with suppliers and customers to minimise risk at the lowest cost in conjunction with the wider commercial team.
React swiftly and effectively to customer driven complaints and returns, interpret returns data and suggest corrective recommendations.
Work closely with the off shore and UK Q.C. teams to monitor quality.
Deliver technical parts of the critical path to deadlines.
Attend regular updates with customers on development and production topics.
Keep up to date with new product legislation on behalf of customers/suppliers.
Understanding regulations, UKCA/CE and PPE legislation - preferred but not essential.
Understanding REACH/ZDHC chemical compliance.
Support the sustainability team with product related data.
Profile:
- Full and in depth understanding of textile and product construction, processing and manufacturing, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ideally educated to degree level in a textile discipline.
- Confident using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel.
- Experience working in a technical role in the supply base or at a retailer.
