Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Director, or someone looking to step up into the role of a Director, to lead the financial strategy and operations of Flat Rock Technology. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a critical role in guiding strategic decision-making, ensuring robust financial governance, overseeing commercial and legal risk, and supporting our continued international expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in line with business objectives.
- Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities.
- Oversee financial operations including accounting, reporting, compliance, audit, and tax.
- Manage company cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health.
- Ensure compliance with international accounting standards, legal regulations, and tax laws.
- Provide strategic financial insights and reporting to the CEO and executive team.
- Drive financial and operational efficiencies through system improvements and automation.
- Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, fostering professional growth and succession planning.
- Train and mentor finance staff to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.
- Review, negotiate, and approve commercial contracts, including client and vendor agreements, in collaboration with legal and sales teams.
- Lead financial aspects of commercial negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and appropriate risk mitigation.
- Manage the company’s insurance portfolio, including renewals, claims, and coverage adequacy across all regions and business lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial and operational strategies.
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent with a strong academic background.
- Minimum 6–10 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably in tech, SaaS, or outsourcing.
- Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Experience managing an international team.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract review and negotiation.
- Experience managing corporate insurance programs and mitigating financial and operational risk.
- In-depth knowledge of international financial regulations, compliance, and tax.
- Strategic thinker with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience working in a multi-jurisdictional, fast-paced business environment.
- Experience in a small growth focused business (400 employees).
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
