Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Director, or someone looking to step up into the role of a Director, to lead the financial strategy and operations of Flat Rock Technology. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a critical role in guiding strategic decision-making, ensuring robust financial governance, overseeing commercial and legal risk, and supporting our continued international expansion.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in line with business objectives.

· Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities.

· Oversee financial operations including accounting, reporting, compliance, audit, and tax.

· Manage company cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health.

· Ensure compliance with international accounting standards, legal regulations, and tax laws.

· Provide strategic financial insights and reporting to the CEO and executive team.

· Drive financial and operational efficiencies through system improvements and automation.

· Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, fostering professional growth and succession planning.

· Train and mentor finance staff to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.

· Review, negotiate, and approve commercial contracts, including client and vendor agreements, in collaboration with legal and sales teams.

· Lead financial aspects of commercial negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and appropriate risk mitigation.

· Manage the company’s insurance portfolio, including renewals, claims, and coverage adequacy across all regions and business lines

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial and operational strategies.

Requirements

· ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent with a strong academic background

· Minimum 6–10 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably in tech, SaaS, or outsourcing

· Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing finance teams

· Experience managing an international team

· Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract review and negotiation

· Experience managing corporate insurance programs and mitigating financial and operational risk

· In-depth knowledge of international financial regulations, compliance, and tax

· Strategic thinker with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

· Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms

· Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

· Experience working in a multi-jurisdictional, fast-paced business environment

· Experience in a small growth focused business (400 employees)

· Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
