HV Cable Design Engineer

Were working with a specialist engineering consultancy thats growing its UK team and looking to hire a permanent HV Cable Design Engineer . This is a fantastic opportunity to work on major UK and international energy infrastructure projects, offering strong autonomy and technical variety. Role Overview You\’ll be involved in high-voltage (HV) cable system design up to 525kV. Your work will span all stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to detailed installation designs. Responsibilities include: HV cable route assessments and feasibility reports Thermal analysis of cable systems (including FEM) Design reviews, 3D modelling, and installation drawings Technical documentation, specs, and constructability input Factory inspections, FAT witnessing, and client support Impressed voltage and fault studies Interfacing with civil design teams for cable structures and foundations What Were Looking For Strong experience in HV cable design (132kV and above) Solid grasp of UK grid codes, standards, and safety practices Experience with FEM tools and cable system calculations Comfortable managing documentation and client communication Able to contribute to design assurance and reviews Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar) The Offer ??
