Sous Chef required for a traditional French restaurant, working on the Vegetable & soup section. This is an independent restaurant that has been trading for many years and doing very well. The salary for the Sous Chef position is £44k-50k. You will work under the Executive Chef and Head Chef, and this role is hands-on, running a section.
You must be able to work with a classical French menu and cope with a range of dishes.
The role: As a Sous Chef, you will prepare your section, which is the vegetable section, and have this ready for service. During service, you will cook French classical vegetable items to accompany the classical dishes. This role will include all standard Sous Chef duties, but as it involves running a section, it also includes Chef de Partie duties using classical techniques.
Experience: We are looking for a hands-on Sous Chef with French classical knowledge of vegetables. You will know how to prepare and cook these to a classical French method.
