What you will accomplish:
- In this role, you will lead a team, develop and inspire talented UK Lawyers who support and guide the business team in general legal matters.
- Develop and support the legal strategy for key areas, ensuring compliance as a major ecommerce platform.
- Work as part of a global leadership team, sharing best practice and fostering a strong and cohesive culture across different regions and teams.
- Enable our internal teams to deliver an outstanding buyer and seller experience, embracing the appropriate level of smart risk.
- Build strong working relationships with functional groups within the Company on both transactional work and policy review, including Finance, Accounting, Corporate Development, Marketing, Tax, Information Security, Privacy, Trust and Risk.
What you will bring:
- 12+ years of post-qualification experience in the technology space, with a preference for multi-jurisdiction platform-based business models.
- Ability to develop, inspire and manage a team of legal professionals.
- Proven record of thinking strategically and working across a complex matrix of global collaborators, providing strong legal analysis, but also practical business recommendations.
- Independently manage and deliver across a number of top-priority projects for yourself and your team.
- Ability to build positive relationships quickly and interact with junior to senior business leaders with ease.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible and agile problem solver, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
