VBE Restorations is a world class vintage Bentley restoration company that has been trading for over 25 years. The company specialise in cars manufactured between 1919 – 1931.
Due to a continued increase of work, we need to expand our team! We are looking for a Mechanic /Engineer to join us on a permanent basis. A highly motivated individual who has a genuine interest in vintage cars.
The role would be extremely varied with very little repetition but would involve; general mechanics, hand fitting, problem solving and fault diagnosis (without the aid of electrical diagnostic equipment).
The ideal candidate would have completed a mechanical or engineering apprenticeship and have at least 10 years experience as a mechanic. They would also have worked on vintage and classic cars, specifically with mechanical brakes and manually-timed engines, and SU carburettors.
It would be advantageous for the candidate to have had exposure / hands on experience with the following
- Engine building
- Gearbox re builds
- Differential re builds
- Machining on lathes and milling machines
- Basic fabrication and TIG welding
- Silver soldering
- Wood working
- Panel making
- Upholstery
Working hours are Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm with a possibility of over time after hours/weekends paid at time and a half (optional)
What we offer:
A salary of £35k – £45k (dependent on experience)
28 days holiday per year (inclusive of bank holidays)
