About the Role We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Associate Director to lead and enhance our public affairs and communications initiatives. This role is pivotal in driving client strategies, fostering high-level relationships, and guiding a talented team to deliver impactful results. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and oversee comprehensive public affairs and communication strategies that align with client objectives and the broader political landscape. Client Management: Serve as the primary advisor to senior clients, providing insightful counsel on political developments, media relations, and reputational challenges. Team Development: Mentor and lead a team of consultants, fostering professional growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work across all accounts. Stakeholder Engagement: Leverage and expand your network within government, parliament, and media to advance client interests and enhance agency visibility. Content Oversight: Ensure the production of compelling written materials, including press releases, opinion pieces, and briefing documents, maintaining the agency\’s standard of excellence. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to pitches and expanding the agency\’s client portfolio. Candidate Profile Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience across a public affairs, communications consultancy, or a political/media environment, with a proven track record of strategic leadership and client success in an agency setting. Political Acumen: Deep understanding of UK government structures, parliamentary procedures, and the media landscape. Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for crafting persuasive narratives and delivering clear advice under pressure. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. Network: Established relationships within political and media circles, with a commitment to ongoing engagement and influence. Innovation: A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a passion for generating ideas and driving them through to execution.
