Progressive Care is seeking an experienced and dedicated Safeguarding Lead to oversee and strengthen our safeguarding practices across our services. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in protecting vulnerable children, families and adults within our care.
The Role:
- Developing a Safeguarding Culture across the Organisation that influences the strategic and operational focus.
- Take the lead role in developing, implementing, and reviewing safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice standards.
- Oversee all incident reporting, safeguarding concerns working collaboratively with our Operational Services to ensure a robust, timely and appropriate response to all incidents.
- Be the Organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Supporting, advising and guiding Managers and staff on all safeguarding matters, supporting them to recognise and report concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of safeguarding incidents and actions taken.
- Liaise with external agencies such as local authorities, safeguarding boards, and law enforcement to ensure seamless incident management.
- Conduct regular safeguarding audits and risk assessments to identify potential concerns and mitigate risks.
Our Ideal Candidate will:
- Be a qualified Social Worker and registered with Social Work England
- Be resilient and able to stay calm under pressure
- Have a comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant legislation pertaining to children’s services as well as publications which inform current thinking regarding good practice and the safeguarding of children and adults.
- Experience working with children, young people and their families with complex and multiple needs, including child protection issues.
- Proven experience in a safeguarding role and investigating safeguarding issues and responding to incidents.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to engage confidently with staff, external bodies, and individuals at risk.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
