Our client are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Chargehand/Foreman - Industrial Painter (Bridges) to join their team. This role combines hands-on painting and blasting work with frontline supervision, making it ideal for a skilled tradesperson ready to take the next step into team leadership.

You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of bridge maintenance and painting works, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. In addition to your technical tasks, you will oversee a small team, coordinate workloads, and act as the point of contact for management and site supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of industrial painters and support staff on site
  • Coordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed to required standards and deadlines
  • Sign off completed works, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards
  • Perform blasting and painting tasks in accordance with sector scheme standards
  • Support installation and removal of bespoke access systems
  • Carry out cyclic maintenance tasks as part of scheduled routines
  • Operate bridge access systems (gantries)
  • Actively participate in Rescue Team activities
  • Liaise with site management and report progress or issues
  • Ensure all team members comply with Health & Safety legislation and site rules

Required Skills & Experience

  • Valid ICATS Applicator module card
  • Valid ICATS Blasting/Spraying modules
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or chargehand role within an industrial painting environment
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence

  • External: Clients, Sub-contractors and sub-consultants, Members of the public, Other stakeholders
