This role is to join a thriving practice of mechanical and electrical building services design engineers, covering a range of projects in sectors including pharmaceutical, education, industrial, financial, hotels, leisure, health, and residential.
You will be a mechanical design engineer at either senior or associate senior level and upon joining will become part of a highly supportive team environment where you’ll feel like a trusted, valued professional and colleague from day one. Responsibilities:- Establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works and provide information for cost plans.
- Run projects from inception through to completion.
- Monitor engineering resource requirements for each project within your control.
- Carry out concept design to detailed design through to tender and completion.
- Maintain client and design team relationships.
- Review and comment on information provided by contractors/sub-contractors.
- Attend and contribute to design team meetings, client meetings, pre-contract and post-contract meetings.
- Have a strong awareness of Low Carbon design.
- Proven experience as a mechanical design engineer within building services.
- Preferably degree qualified.
- Chartered or a desire to become chartered would be beneficial.
- A consultancy background.
- Experience of a range of different project types.
- Knowledge of British Standards.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
