The head of department has been at the company for 12 years, you will learn a huge amount from him about their products, and what challenges they solve for clients. There will be excellent progression and bonuses for strong performers, I cannot praise the company enough (I will explain more on a call, if your application is successful), there is also a generous profit share scheme for all employees.

The Role
Solutions Engineering
- Assist the Technical Sales Manager on customer inquiries; ask the right questions to understand the problem and deliver the right solution
- Build long-term relationships with clients, be the key point of contact, identify upselling opportunities when appropriate
- Produce technical drawings and other materials to support current customers and new clients
- Attend customer visits, to build a deep understanding of customer challenges
- Receive and process customer purchase orders for spare parts and repairs
- Work with the Design Engineering team on more complex customer challenges
- Collect and report on customer feedback to improve product quality
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage orders, ensuring efficient delivery
- Keep up-to-date with product developments and technological advancements
- Provide excellent post-sales support, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction
Business Development
- Analyse dormant accounts with the Technical Sales Manager, develop strategies to reengage with legacy contacts
- Generate leads through online research, networking, and trade shows
- Input into the strategy to win new accounts, and grow existing accounts
- Conduct product demonstrations and support technical discussions with potential clients
- Conduct market research including industry trends, and competitor activities
- Support the marketing team to develop campaigns to attract new business
Administration
- Use CRM & ERP software to manage customer information, track interactions and ensure timely follow-ups
- Help coordinate sales meetings, product demonstrations, and customer visits
- Prepare reports on sales activities, customer interactions, and market
The Person
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
- Existing customer facing experience is desired but not essential
- An inquisitive mind, you enjoy solving technical challenges
- Communication skills, the ability to present complex technical information
- Relationship builder, with new and existing clients, and internal staff
- Self-starter, proactive and makes things happen
- Business acumen, understanding what customers want
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, resilience when priorities change
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, full UK Drivers licence
