Are you a seasoned SQL Database Administrator with proven experience across both on-prem SQL and Azure SQL platforms? Do you enjoy taking ownership of performance, optimisation, and migration in fast-moving, client-facing environments? If so, this one’s for you.

A leading Azure Expert MSP is delivering an on-prem to Azure SQL migration project for one of their flagship customers. They’re looking for a confident, hands-on DBA to join the delivery team and take ownership of key workloads during this transformation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing and optimising on-prem SQL Server environments
  • Leading and supporting Azure SQL migrations (PaaS & IaaS)
  • Implementing performance tuning strategies across workloads
  • Ensuring security, data protection, and compliance alignment
  • Collaborating with project managers, infrastructure teams, and developers to ensure smooth delivery
  • Acting as a customer-facing consultant across migration phases

What You’ll Need:

  • Solid commercial experience as a SQL DBA (ideally within consultancies or MSPs)
  • Strong hands-on skills in SQL Server (2016+) and Azure SQL
  • A track record of end-to-end cloud migration delivery
  • Understanding of data security, backup strategies, and best practices
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with stakeholders

  • Day Rate: Up to £500 per day (depending on experience)
  • Location: Hybrid – Remote + 3 days per week onsite (Leicester HQ)
